“Leza’s poems are pure gems of wisdom that will wake you up, inspire you, challenge you, move you, and call you to action to live your yoga more fully. Yoga Heart rocks the heart of yoga, which is the desire to live not just to better ourselves, but to help better the world.”
—MC Yogi
“The Six Perfections are ideal guidelines for living a happy and successful life, and it is very good to see them celebrated in a sensitive and eloquent way.... Most important, it is obvious that the poet is truly practicing the six in her own life, and her verses inspire us to follow her example in ours. Very tender and peaceful reading.”
—Geshe Michael Roach, author of The Diamond Cutter: The Buddha on Managing Your Business and Your Life

Description
These sixty poems on the
Buddha's six "perfections," or qualities for a meaningful
life—generosity, kindness, patience, joy, stillness, wisdom—were written
over years of yoga and meditation practice, inspired by Tibetan Heart
Yoga, nature, Buddhism, Osho, Tantra, ancient Japanese and Chinese
poetry, Rumi, Kabir, haiku, love, and life. They seek to capture a
journey from the physical body to the subtle body to the light body,
until the heart bursts open into the beautiful radiance of divine energy
in the world.
Writer and yoga instructor Leza Lowitz has received a PEN Syndicated Fiction Award and grants from the NEA, NEH, and California Arts Council. She runs the Sun and Moon yoga studio in Tokyo.
