Fred Patten
Fred Patten is a world-renowned historian and author in such fields as anime, manga, animation, and science fiction. In 1972, Fred became co-owner of the Graphic Story Bookshop in Long Beach, California, selling imported manga and comics from Japan, France, and elsewhere, and later he worked for Streamline Pictures, one of the country's first anime production companies. Fred has written regularly for such publications as Animation World Magazine and Comics Buyer's Guide, and writes a weekly column for the Cartoon Research website.
