Hippocampus Magazine recently reviewed Jeanette Arakawa's poignant new book, The Little Exile, which relates the WWII Japanese-American internment experience through the eyes of an innocent young girl.
"The Little Exile is a memoir worth reading," the review opines, "One piece of advice though: be prepared to read it in multiple sittings. My heart needed time between chapters or it would’ve broken." Indeed, Arakawa's account truly pulls, or perhaps yanks, at the heartstrings.
