Hiroaki Sato's 'Silver Spoon' translation wins the Japan-United States Friendship Commission Prize!

Congratulations to SBP author and translator Hiroaki Sato for winning one of the two 2017-2018 Japan-United States Friendship Commission Prizes for his English translation of Kansuke Naka's classic Japanese memoir The Silver Spoon, a sharp detailing of life at the end of the Meiji period (1912) through the eyes of a boy as he grows into adolescence.

Since 1986 this prestigious prize has been awarded annually to outstanding works of translation into English from the Japanese language. This is the 4th time a Stone Bridge Press title has won this award, and we're more than honored. Well done Hiroaki!
